Meet us
Having graduated from the American Institute of Massage, Richmond, Virginia, in May 2003, I became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and obtained a Certificate to Practice issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing. In addition to my five years of local experience, I have continued my education in the fields of aromatherapy, reflexology, fibromyalgia massage, deep tissue work, and medical ethics. Known for my eclectic style, I intuitively incorporate various modalities, including Swedish and deep tissue. My first session with any client includes favorite touches that I myself like to receive; believing that is a good starting point for future work. As I get to know you, your specific wants and needs, and your likes and dislikes, your massages will become entirely personalized just for you. My mother and I recently opened the Utopia Spa after several years of planning and renovating the old Dalton’s Jewelers building. I know that you will appreciate my beautiful new Couples Massage Room, decorated in a very natural, warm, cozy décor, with original hardwood floors, and even the old jewelry safe! You’ll know right away it speaks of my personality! Adrienne Long
I love Utopia Spa’s outlook on services. The staff is always encouraged to use their talents to their fullest capacity, and we have the opportunity to individualize each treatment to fulfill the needs of that client. The warm, quiet atmosphere is very calming. Before you even walk through the doors you hear the soothing music and the inside environment is very tranquil. It immediately relaxes me, even after a busy morning with my children. Jade Taylor
In April 2009, I decided to stop commuting to Richmond, and accepted the position of “Nail Specialist” at Utopia Spa. denise and Alicia have taken me in with open arms, and I already feel like they are part of my family. I am anxious and excited, and I look forward to being part of the growth of their new business in Old Towne! Beverly Robinson
In 2004 I graduated from the American Spirit Institute in Williamsburg, Virginia with a degree as a Master Esthetician Instructor. For the majority of my Esthetic career I worked as a Trainer and Educator for Pevonia Botanica, an elite natural skincare line offered by prestigious spas worldwide, including Utopia Spa. During that time, it was an honor to be mentored by Sylvie Hennessey, creator of Pevonia and renowned dermatologist and biochemist. Sylvie is a celebrated researcher and developer in biological and botanical chemistry and prominently known as the most recognized name in professional skin care products in the world. I pride myself on being especially caring and comforting about concerns that individuals have with their skin, and am confident about my professional care and suggestions for continued home care. I love to see the difference I can make in someone’s confidence as we improve their health and appearance! Utopia Spa has the same wonderful, caring attitude throughout their staff. When you walk in the door you immediately feel relaxed and know that our primary focus is always on the client. Grace Cho As a healthcare provider I do believe massage is a great way to promote and maintain the health of your muscles, and health and over-all function of your body. I’m very excited to be joining the “Utopia Family”. Everyone is so talented at what they do and I’m very anxious to learn from them.
